Elon Musk’s New AI Project? X.ai Revealed!

On August 2nd, the official website of Elon Musk’s new artificial intelligence project, X.ai, began diverting traffic from the domain AI.com, which had previously redirected users to ChatGPT using the same URL.

According to research conducted by DN.com, a website focused on the domestic domain field, the AI.com domain was registered in May 1993, making it more than 30 years old and carrying significant historical significance.

Since February of the current year, AI.com had been redirecting to ChatGPT, leading to the assumption that Elon Musk personally owned the site. It had been used by Musk in connection to his investment in ChatGPT in the past. However, it has now been reclaimed for Musk’s own artificial intelligence project, X.ai.

The most recent update to the information related to the AI.com domain was on April 8, 2022. This indicates that the ownership of the domain, which had previously redirected to ChatGPT and will now redirect to X.ai, has not changed hands.

On July 12, 2023, X.ai officially announced the establishment of xAI on their website accessible via AI.com. The xAI team includes prominent organizations such as DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Tesla, and the University of Toronto, among others.

Elon Musk, known for his visionary entrepreneurial endeavors as the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has been a prominent figure in the technological landscape. His latest venture, xAI, aims to push AI to new heights by developing a mathematical “theory of everything” for large neural networks.

This initiative is seen as a response to the rapid rise of ChatGPT, an OpenAI language model that Musk has criticized for alleged political biases.
